Our new A&E is on the way...

Another week, more demolition...By winter 2016 our new £43m A&E will be built. This is phase one of the Emergency Floor development at Leicester's Hopsitals'. A year later, phase two will be up and running, providing a suite of assessment units located right next door to the A&E.  

Mills Flats has started to come down today, after the recent removal of the link bridge on Infirmary Close.

The piling rig to dig the foundations of the new build arrived today!

Did you know...our existing A&E was built to cope with 100,000 patients each year, we currently see 180,000.

Another milestone of progress with our new Emergency Department has been reached this week as the steel frames for the new building have started to be put into the ground... Did you know... when our new multi-storey car park is open, there will be 600 spaces available in the Havelock Street car park.

Construction continues at pace with the build of our Emergency Floor...piling rigs are drilling holes in the ground to make way for the concrete that will become the foundations of the new building. Did you know ...everyday, 3,355 patients attend one of our outpatient clinics.
